MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College students were recently honored at the School of Liberal Arts Banquet.
The Theater Participant-of-the-Year was awarded to Benjamin Korpiel, of Canandaigua, an agricultural business student. Korpiel was an integral part of the college’s theater productions, landing the lead role in the last four plays.

That curiosity eventually found an outlet in agricultural engineering, a career that’s taken him all over the world and has earned him numerous accolades.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host its annual Ag Day celebration on April 21.
Neighbors will be able to get up close and personal with farm animals of all shapes and sizes, including horses, sheep and dairy cows. Attendees will also be able to sample MSC’s homemade ice cream during the event. The attractions will be set up on the academic quad from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

His name is Dale Durant, a student studying criminal justice at Morrisville State College. He’s an ordinary guy who likes to golf, hunt, watch sports, work out and hang with his friends.
But in the coming weeks, the 21-year-old Stockbridge resident will do something extraordinary.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Four days a week, Morrisville State College student Emily French augments her studies with a different kind of learning. Firing up a chainsaw, she cuts three cross-cut sections off of a log in the shortest amount of time.
Cutting through the five-inch piece of wood takes skill, precision and speed, which the Westport resident is honing as a member of the college’s wood sports team.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host the Mohawk Regional Dietetic Association spring meeting on April 15 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The meeting, titled “Rural Nutrition: Challenges and Strategies,” will include a keynote address by Rachel Kramer and Karen Romano of HealtheConnections, along with presentations from several area nutrition and healthcare experts. There will also be a panel discussion.

MORRISVILLE, NY— The Morrisville State College University Police Department, in conjunction with the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, is holding a citizen preparedness seminar on April 27 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Activities Center Little Theatre.
The free training, which is open to the public, will focus on preparing for severe weather and man-made disaster events.

Third Straight is in the top 10 in Leading Sires Average Earnings per foal for 2015; among two-year olds he is 6th, and three-year olds he is 10th.

The annual conference features high school students from technical schools and BOCES programs throughout Central New York competing in a variety of events.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College University Police Lt. Conor Duffy attended the Fair and Impartial Policing training program in Syracuse.
The Fair and Impartial Policing training is designed to help officers identify bias or impartial policing and how it can impact policing as a whole.
The training certifies Duffy, along with 24 other SUNY officers, to provide training to his on-campus colleagues, and throughout the region.

The open house gives prospective students the opportunity to visit the Morrisville campus and interact with current college students and employees.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a welcome ceremony in the student activities center (STUAC). There will also be academic presentations and facility tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Lisa Iannello, of New Berlin, has been named Morrisville State College’s executive director of advancement and executive director of the Morrisville College Foundation.
In this role, Iannello will lead the institutional advancement office in fundraising and scholarship efforts, and also oversee alumni affairs and the foundation board.
