The Morrisville State College athletic department has named juniors Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, Ontario) and Tom Huber (West Islip, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Year for 2012-13.

Third seed Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse posted a 20-14 victory over sixth seed Medaille College to advance to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Championship Tournament semi-final round Wednesday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville.
The Mustangs improve to 10-7 overall and will play at second seed McDaniel College on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Green Terrors advanced with an 18-1 defeat of seventh seed Cazenovia earlier this evening.

There's a championship soccer medallion hanging in a window, a poster of Jesus Christ, a Morrisville sweatshirt, award and leadership certificates, a soccer ball, and a majestic sky blue and white-trimmed flag representing his Guatemalan heritage.
Soon he will add college diploma to his treasures.

Freshman Kelsey Stewart (Cuttingsville, Vt.) wrapped up a stellar freshman campaign with a 16th place overall finish at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania over the weekend.

The Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team was one of seven teams to receive a bid to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Women’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament Monday, for the second straight season.
The third seeded Mustangs (9-7) will host sixth seed Medaille College (8-7) on Wednesday. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Drake field in Morrisville.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2013 Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference selections, naming six Morrisville State College players to its first, second and third teams.
Three earned first team honors, including Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.), Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, Ontario) and Abby Muraco (Amherst, N.Y.).

Morrisville State College faculty member Lisa Rusch, of Hamilton, has received the Morrisville State College Distinguished Faculty Award.
The award is presented annually to a faculty member who displays professional growth, personal and professional achievement, and has provided outstanding service to the college. She will be recognized during the college's 102nd commencement ceremony on May 18 at 1 p.m. in the recreation center.

The #4 seed Morrisville State College men’s lacrosse team concluded the 2013 season Wednesday afternoon, falling 11-5 to top seed Keuka College in the semi-final round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Tournament, held in Keuka.
Morrisville State concludes the season with a 4-9 overall record, and finish fourth in the conference with a 4-3 record.

Hamilton College’s Kelly Leonard '15 tossed a one-hit shutout and the Continentals cruised to a 12-0 non-conference win against Morrisville State College at Hamilton’s Ferguson Fields on April 30.
The game was stopped after the top of the fifth inning due to the eight-run mercy rule. Hamilton wraps up its season with a non-conference doubleheader at home against St. Lawrence University on Wednesday, May 1.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced its post-season tournament brackets Monday, giving Morrisville State College men’s and women’s lacrosse bids to the championship tournament for the fourth straight season.
The men’s team claimed the fourth spot in the tourney and will face-off against top seed Keuka College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the semi-final round in Keuka.

The Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team saw an eight game win streak snapped Sunday afternoon, as visiting Keuka College collected the 18-11 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory, claiming the regular season conference title.
The Mustangs drop to 9-6 overall and 8-1 in conference action, and will await NEAC tournament seeding and additional information as it becomes announced at the beginning of the week.

The SUNY Cobleskill women’s softball team made a strong move toward the North Eastern Athlete Conference (NEAC) Championship Tournament on Thursday afternoon as the Fighting Tigers swept visiting Morrisville State College by scores of 5-3 and 4-2 in league action. With the victories Cobleskill evens their overall record at 15-15 overall including a 9-7 mark in NEAC while the Mustangs fall to 5-17 overall with a 5-11 mark in conference action.

The Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team posted their seventh straight victory Thursday afternoon, notching a 16-8 defeat of conference foe Medaille College on the road in Buffalo.
The win boosts the Mustangs to an overall 8-5 record, a 7-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) mark. The victory puts Morrisville State at the top of the conference alongside rival Keuka College (7-0 NEAC).
