Morrisville State College is tapping into the renaissance of the craft brewing industry in New York State, with a new curriculum and four-year degree program that includes hands-on brewing experience at the Copper Turret restaurant and a line of Morrisville-branded beers that will be available to the public.

MORRISVILLE, NY—As part of Morrisville State College’s annual celebration of academic excellence, students from the School of Science, Technology and Health Studies were honored for their outstanding achievements.
More than 175 students were recognized on the school’s academic honors list during the annual awards dinner, where 22 awards and scholarships were also presented.

MORRISVILLE, NY—The Children’s Center at Morrisville State College will host its ninth annual Race for ChildRUN on Saturday, July 15, to benefit students.
Proceeds from the ChildRUN benefit the Sheila Johnson Child Care Scholarship, awarded to an MSC student who has a child enrolled at the Children’s Center. The event will feature a 5K (five-kilometer) run, as well as a one-mile fun run for younger children and their friends and family.

More than 1,000 of the best and brightest high school students from across New York flocked to campus to gain hands-on experience in their future agricultural career fields during the event, which showcased some of the best MSC has to offer.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Shelby Scholefield lined up diagrams that illustrate the relationships between a male murder victim and people he may have known.
“The ones close to the center, the closer they are to the victim,” said Scholefield, one of seven criminal justice students from Morrisville State College who recently assisted the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office with a cold case murder investigation.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College students were honored for their outstanding achievements during the 17th annual School of Liberal Arts Banquet ceremony, which is part of the college’s annual celebration of academic excellence.
A total of 11 awards were presented to liberal arts students by the department’s professors during the event, which was presided by Paul Griffin, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host its fourth annual Milk Run on Friday, April 21, to benefit the experiential learning activities of the agricultural business and dairy science programs.
The family-friendly event is a five-kilometer (5K) run, walk or crawl open to all skill levels. The race begins at 6 p.m. in front of Marshall Hall, with race-day registration and packet pick-up open from 4:30-5:45 p.m.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College is hosting a free workshop for those interested in learning about nutrient management in pastures.
The workshop, scheduled April 12 from 3-5 p.m. in Bicknell Hall, will address questions about managing soil fertility in the pasture and interpreting soil test reports as they relate to forage production. It will also cover soil phosphorus management and ideas for the next grazing season.
