After Dan Akers graduated from the SUNY Morrisville Automotive Technology Program in 1990, he 'turned wrenches' for over 17 years at a busy dealership in Syracuse, NY.
Dan left his position as the Shop Foreman and returned to SUNY Morrisville in 2007 to begin his career as an Automotive Technology Educator in the Ford ASSET Program.
Dan has earned his master's degree in Information Design Technology from SUNY Polytechnic and his bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology from SUNY Morrisville. He has been an ASE Master Technician since 1990.
Dan stated that you should never think that your course in life has been set:
“When I was 18, I never would have imagined that I would return to Morrisville to teach and share my knowledge with my students. The future is an open book – the start of this chapter begins with you coming to SUNY Morrisville!”
