Yvonne Chu (she/her)
Former Board President, Climate Change Awareness and Action
Office Manager, Onondaga Earth Corps, Inc.
Yvonne Chu graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2013 with her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Currently she is the Office Manager for Onondaga Earth Corps and the Former Board President of Climate Change Awareness and Action. Yvonne has been showcased as an Earth Justice Activist at the ArtRage Gallery alongside other local Syracuse activists. She has also been a guest panelist on the WCNY television show Connect: NY, to speak about climate issues in NY.
As her knowledge of the climate crisis grew, she made an intentional decision to pursue a career path that was aligned with her values. She now works as the Office Manager for the Onondaga Earth Corps which employs over 50 local youth each year to grow the urban forest canopy, maintain green infrastructure sites, and manage natural areas in and around the Syracuse area. Through this work she plays a pivotal role in providing hands-on education to empower young people and helps implement solutions for environmental health, justice, and climate resiliency in the community.
