The USA Football Network, Inc. announced its 25th annual pre-season All-American teams Thursday, naming Morrisville State College’s senior defensive lineman David Williams (Central Islip, N.Y.) and senior offensive lineman Nate Ryan (Staten Island, N.Y.) to its teams.
Williams, a pre-season fourth team selection, earns the honors for the first time following a second team all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) performance last season.
Starting at defensive tackle in all 10 games in 2012, Williams registered 32 total tackles, including 19 solo stops. Six of his tackles were for a total loss of 18-yards, including two quarterback sacks. He also defended a pass, and recovered a fumble.
The West Babylon High graduate is majoring in liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science at Morrisville State. He is the son of Gale Williams of Central Islip.
Ryan, a pre-season honorable mention selection at offensive line, earns the honors for the first time following a back-to-back honorable mention all-NJAC performance for the past two-seasons.
In 2012, Ryan started all 10 games for the Mustangs on the offensive line, recording two solo tackles. The three-year starter for the Mustangs also served as captain.
A graduate of Port Richmond High, Ryan is majoring in automotive technology at Morrisville State. He is the son of Diane and John Ryan of Staten Island, New York.
Pre-season camp is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 12. The Mustangs open the 2013 schedule on the road at Wilkes University on September 7 before returning to Drake Field for the home opener on September 14.
