The Morrisville State College western equestrian team posted 18 top place finishes Saturday as they swept competition with two show wins on December 4 at the Morrisville arena.
In the morning show, Morrisville State posted 10 blue ribbons in five classes to claim high point team honors with 35 points. Cobleskill was reserve high point team with 26.
Lisa Ballard (Rome, NY) posted a first place in the advanced western horsemanship class followed by Jennifer Boise (New Haven, CT), Erin Moseley (Cazenovia, NY) and Shauna Latincsics (Wayne, NJ) in the novice horsemanship class.
Tabitha Fargo (Ripley, NY), Danielle Ascani (Dover Plains, NY) and Tanya Ashford (Wapwallopen, PA) each took top honors in the intermediate II horsemanship class; and Cassandra Chapman (Bemus Point, NY) and Heather Cousins (Burnt Hills, NY) followed with firsts in the intermediate I class.
Wyatt Carbaugh (Greencastle, PA) claimed the blue ribbon in the beginner class.
Megan Freemantle (Middlefield, CT) was reserve high point rider, after earning a third place in the reining class and second place in the open western horsemanship class.
In the afternoon show, Freemantle was high point rider for Morrisville State, who claimed high point team honors with 30 points for the show, following a first place finish in the open horsemanship and third place finish in the reining classes, respectively.
Catherine Howland (Rutlandtown, VT) was first in the reining class for the Mustangs, while three claimed top honors in the novice horsemanship classes: Elizabeth Scott (Chittenango, NY), Boise, and Latincsics.
In the intermediate II class, Anita Weigelt (Fair Haven, NY) and Ashford claimed top honors for the Mustangs, followed by Carbaugh in the intermediate I class, respectively.
