As of August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This means the SUNY requirement that all students be vaccinated is now in effect. SUNY Morrisville’s full COVID-19 Student Vaccine Policy can be found on the college website.
By Wednesday, Sept. 1, all students must receive their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or have completed and submitted a waiver application. Any vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) satisfies the vaccination policy.
To assist students with getting vaccinated, the following options have been made available:
- An on-campus vaccination clinic will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and registration is now open. A second clinic is expected to be held on Monday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and registration information will be shared when it is available. Clinics will be held in Hamilton Hall and will administer the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
- Dougherty’s Pharmacy, located in the Village of Morrisville (14 E. Main St., Morrisville, N.Y. 13408), currently has vaccines available by appointment or by calling 315.684.3171.
Students must submit their vaccination record after receiving each dose. Submissions can be made either to the Student Health Center at stellda@morrisville.edu or through Blackboard. Students who have already submitted their vaccination record should NOT re-submit it.
Students requesting a medical exemption or religious exemption must fill out the appropriate form and submit it for review by Sept. 1 to the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services at babowidp@morrisville.edu. Students will be notified if their request has been approved or denied by Sept. 5. Students granted a medical or religious exemption will be subjected to certain restrictions and COVID-19 testing responsibilities as set forth by SUNY Morrisville.
