Third period lifts Brockport hockey past Morrisville State 7-6

Host SUNY Brockport tallied four fourth period goals to down visiting Morrisville State College ice hockey 7-6 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action Saturday night in Brockport.

Morrisville State drops to 2-7-1 overall with the loss, while Brockport pulls to 3-6-2.



Jonathan Crisitini (Mississauga, ONT) and Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, ONT) each tallied two scores for Morrisville State, while Tom Longland (Dunnville, ONT) and Curtis Renaud (Carlisle, ONT) each posted a goal.



Ian Finnerty had three goals and an assist to lead the Golden Eagles while four others contributed a score each.

Brockport got off to a quick 2-0 start in the first 7:27 of play before Renaud was able to get the Mustangs on the board with a score.



After Brockport added another late in the first period, Hosmer was able to pull the Mustangs within one midway through the second, netting a power play tally at the 7:47 mark. With less than four minutes remaining in the period, Cristini sent the game into the final period locked at three goals each, as he put fired one into the back of the net at 16:13.



Morrisville State took a one goal lead just 4:28 into the final frame with scores from Longland and Cristini, but Brockport hit two in less than a 30 second span to regain the one goal advantage midway through the third.



Hosmer was ablet o pull the Mustangs even at 12:16, but Cobly Spooner was able to get one past Morrisville State netminder Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT) for the game winning tally at 14:21.



Breen had 28 saves between the pipes for the Mustangs, including 13 in the first period.



Morrisville State returns to the ice Friday at Neumann College.
