Visiting Elmira College Soaring Eagles posted a five goal third period to hand host Morrisville State College a 8-5 loss Friday night in Morrisville.

Morrisville State drops to 1-13-2 overall, while Elmira pulls to 6-9.

Elmira took a 3-1 lead midway through the second period before Mike Dolman (Hawthorne, NJ) posted a power play tally, cutting it to a one goal contest and igniting the Mustang offensive attack.

In the third, Steve Dol (Ingersoll, Ontario) added Morrisville State’s third power play score, tying the game at three, and less than a minute later, James Jarvis (Pickering, Ontario) added another tally, as the Mustangs took the lead for the first time of the night 8:03 into the final stanza.

Within minutes, penalties on the Mustangs proved costly, as Elmira rattled off four straight scores, three on power plays, and tallied an empty netter at the close of the period, enroute to the non-conference win.

Dolman and Jamie Nelson (Stratford, Ontario) led the Mustang efforts, each tallying one score and assisting two others, while Ryan Marcuz (Richmond Hill, Ontario) also added a score.

Jakob Rasmussen (Vallentuna, Sweden) posted the loss in net, turning away 38, including 16 in the first period.
