Six SUNY Morrisville students were part of this year’s National Wildlife Society’s Annual Conference, one of the largest gatherings of wildlife professionals and supporters in North America.

The conference, held this year in Baltimore, Maryland, spotlights the latest advancements in wildlife management and research while providing opportunities for networking and career advancement. Engaging speakers and immersive workshops were part of the agenda.

“The wildlife society is more expansive than I could ever have imagined, said Mason Hallenback, an environmental & natural resources management student who attended the conference. “I learned so much about what is possible and now I want to go to grad school after attending this conference.”

The following students, all environmental & natural resources management Bachelor of Technology majors, attended the national conference:
Mason Hallenbeck, of Baldwinsville
Dakota Gatton, of Savona
Ben Scholl, of Sylvan Beach
Keshler Norman, of Sherrill
Andrew Patelunas, of Elmira
Zachary Denman, of Aurora

Following the conference, the students, all members of the Conservation Tri Society Club, gave a presentation on their experience, which was made possible through the Galbreath Family Student Professional Development Fund, a competitive student travel fund provided by the Galbreath family.

More than 30 students will travel for conferences and other professional development events this year through Galbreath Professional Development funding.
