MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — SUNY Morrisville dairy science and agricultural business student Erin Armitage, of Greenwich, New York, is a recipient of a 2022 Premier Select Sires Scholarship.
The scholarship, through the Premier Future Ag Leaders Scholarship Program, provides financial assistance to eligible students pursuing agricultural education and supports the next generation of young people pursuing careers in the agriculture industry.
Armitage works on her family farm, Clover Stone Farm, a 50-head dairy heifer and beef cattle operation in Greenwich, where she manages the reproductive program and herd health.
Active on the SUNY Morrisville campus, she is a member of the dairy and livestock clubs, SUNY Morrisville Collegiate FFA and Farm Bureau, serving as public relations officer. She works at the college’s dairy complex and was a successful member of the college’s dairy judging team.
Armitage has championed the agricultural industry as past New York State Alternate Dairy Princess, New York State Brown Swiss Ambassador and past New York State FFA District III President.
Her plans are to open an agribusiness marketing and consulting firm to help other agricultural businesses.
“I want to help other agricultural businesses make plans for the future and improve their operations to be more efficient and profitable,” she said.
Armitage aspires to grow her herd of dairy show cattle and allow youth to lease them and offer them similar opportunities she had in the agricultural industry.
She is the daughter of Kevin and Lee-Ann Armitage, of Greenwich.
