MORRISVILLE, NY—Faculty, staff and students are gearing up for two agricultural and dairy events this weekend: the sixth annual Milk Run on Friday, May 3, and Dairy Showmanship on Saturday, May 4.

The Milk Run is a family-friendly, five-kilometer run, walk or crawl open to all skill levels. A one-mile fun run begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 5K run beginning at 6 p.m. in front of Marshall Hall. The Milk Run is part of the Route 20 Road Race Challenge.

Fun facts related to dairy and agriculture will be displayed throughout the race, which supports students in the School of Agriculture & Natural Resources, including the SUNY Morrisville Dairy Judging Team.

Following the race, awards will be presented to the top three male and female runners of the 5K, top three male and female runners by age group and the top 10 racers in the fun run.

Post-race refreshments include chili from the college’s Copper Turret Restaurant & Brewhouse, Chobani yogurt and milk. Participants 21 years of age and older receive a beer “token” good for that evening at the Copper Turret.

The Dairy Showmanship begins at 9 a.m. at the college’s Arnold R. Fisher Dairy Complex on Eaton Street. More than 50 students, some skilled and others with no experience, will show dairy cattle, beef and sheep during the annual event.
