Dear Mustangs,
I want to thank you all for your efforts throughout the past year. It has been a challenging time like no other we have ever experienced and we could not have persevered without you. Through these countless challenges, we continue to prove that we are #MustangStrong.
Today, I also am proud to announce that SUNY Morrisville is All In for the Fall 2021 semester.
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to drop and the vaccine supply increases, it is our intention to return to in-person campus instruction in the fall, with classes beginning on Aug. 23.
Announcements this week of vaccine eligibility on April 6, for anyone in New York State 16 or older, is encouraging news with major implications for our campus communities and makes us even more optimistic that we can return to a vibrant campus again.
While many questions still remain, we assure you that our plans will follow all local and state health department guidelines, as well as SUNY System requirements, to ensure a safe campus environment for our students, faculty and staff.
Logistics of resuming fully operational status will be addressed in the upcoming weeks and months and we will further communicate plans for the semester as they are approved.
Our continued thanks to all SUNY Morrisville students for your ongoing participation in our required weekly pooled saliva testing. It has greatly assisted in the college’s ongoing mission of providing the safest possible learning environment.
Please continue your efforts for weekly testing and following safety protocols. If you would like to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine, I encourage you to check out the “Know Your Vax” website created by the State University of New York (SUNY), which provides many helpful facts and resources.
I look forward to a safe and successful start of a new academic semester and to seeing you this fall.
