The SUNY Morrisville 2021 Commencement will be held virtually on Saturday, May 22. We recognize that many students, faculty, staff and families were hoping for an in-person Commencement ceremony and we regret that this will not be possible this spring. We have partnered with a company specializing in virtual ceremonies so that students will have the opportunity to contribute messages, photos and videos to customize the ceremony. These added elements are intended to make the ceremony as meaningful as possible for graduates. Updates about this process will be provided via email in the coming weeks.
In addition, we will host in-person Academic Celebration Ceremonies on Friday, May 7, Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15. These ceremonies will celebrate an individual department or division and enable students and faculty to gather in person in the STUAC Little Theater to celebrate this graduation milestone. Any students, faculty or staff who wish to participate will be required to sign up in advance. Unfortunately at this time, no off-campus guests will be able to attend. However, all ceremonies will be livestreamed to allow the special moment to be shared and enjoyed by family and friends. Students have the option to order a cap and gown to wear for the ceremony and photo opportunities will also be available. If students choose not to order a cap and gown, formal attire is expected for the event. The full schedule of ceremonies and the online signup form will be made available shortly.
