I understand the world is full of a lot of uncertainty, and 2020 has perhaps reminded us of that more than any other year in recent memory.
As we wrap up in-person instruction for the Fall 2020 semester, I want to assure you that SUNY Morrisville will eagerly await your safe return in January for the Spring 2021 semester. We are proud of and grateful for the successful first half of this academic year.
While our plans must still be finalized and approved by SUNY system, we fully expect the spring to operate similarly to this fall. We will again have in-person instruction (hopefully even more than this fall), as well as online and hybrid options.
We will continue with COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory wearing of masks, regular pooled saliva testing, constant wastewater monitoring, operation of quarantine and isolation facilities, assistance with contact tracing and other efforts that became familiar to us these past three months.
We have learned a lot and only expect to improve.
We are committed to seeing you through this time, ensuring you can continue or complete your studies and that we still provide you the support services and experiences you need. We know that not all activities and events are the same as they might have been before this year. We are working with your student leadership and other professionals throughout the state to expand your opportunities as soon as we safely can.
If you have concerns or questions, we want to address them. You can email Mary Bonderoff, our interim Vice President for Student Affairs, to share your thoughts. We will respond to you and do our best to incorporate your ideas and address your needs.
Thank you for making SUNY Morrisville a community that is Mustang Strong. We are excited to plan for your return in January.
