The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State College’s Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, Md.) the Men’s Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week and Danny Peckham (Webster, N.Y.) the Men’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 7.

Both Pierre-Louis and Peckham were instrumental in leading the Mustangs to a 3-0 week, including two huge conference wins over Penn State Berks and previously undefeated Penn State Abington. Morrisville State is now 4-1-1 in NEAC play and 9-3-1 overall.

Pierre-Louis, a senior forward, tallied six points on three goals, opening the week with a goal in a 3-1 nonconference win over Alfred University Tuesday before notching two scores in a 3-0 conference victory over Penn State Abington. Pierre-Louis is now second on the team in scoring with 13 points on six goals and an assist for Morrisville State.

He is the son of Ronald Pierre-Louis and Marie Sonia Jean and is majoring in Technology Management at Morrisville State.

Peckham, a freshman defender, led a Mustang defensive unit that gave up just one goal during their 3-0 week, while also guiding Morrisville to a pair of shutout victories in NEAC play. Peckham also added some offense, scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 3-1 nonconference win over Alfred University and adding another goal that came on a header off a corner kick in a 3-0 conference victory over Penn State Berks Saturday.

The Webster Schroeder High School graduate is majoring in Automotive Technology at Morrisville State. He is the son of Scott Peckham and Sally Amos of Webster, N.Y.
