An assortment of colossal mums and pie pumpkins are just a sample of seasonal items now available at the Nelson Farms Country Store on Route 20 in the Town of Nelson.
A cornucopia of delights beckons customers inside the quaint store brimming with scents of seasonings, sauces and fall. The charming, multi-room shop offers a warm and inviting environment and a unique shopping experience.
Among the local items for sale are giant mums grown by students in Morrisville State College's horticulture program and pie pumpkins from East Lake Farm, owned by Michael Brooks, of Hamilton. Brooks is a horticulture and business management bachelor degree major and intern at Nelson Farms, which is operated by MSC.
Coming soon are apples and cider from Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards, of LaFayette.
Additional reminders of fall are maple products, including maple garlic pepper, pure maple syrup, pure maple sugar, maple spread and candies. Honey is also a popular item, with Thorp honey, of Cazenovia, recently joining the lineup.
Wind your way through shelves filled with more than 500 products. New products include Nelson Farms jams in various flavors including cran raspberry, blueberry, cran strawberry, raspberry, and habanero and jalapeno jellies. Also making their debut are; Saratoga Crackers, Speach's Candy, of Syracuse, and Barkeaters Chocolates, of North Creek.
In the mood for something sweet? How about homemade fudge or novelty candy? The Country Store carries an assortment of tantalizing chocolates and confections. Check out dark and milk chocolate drum sticks, chocolate pizza hearts and chocolate pizza slices, topped with colorful candies, from The Chocolate Pizza Company, Inc., in addition to cherry cordials, truffles and toffee from Saratoga Sweets.
The Country Store is also stocked with mild, medium or hot Slather Sauce, Maple Madness Syrup, Pineapple Salsa, Sweet-n-Spicy Apple Mustard, Apple-n-Spice All-Purpose Seasoning & Rub, Mustang trail mixes and other products produced and marketed by students in Morrisville State's agricultural business development program.
Consider a harvest basket or a gift basket filled with an array of Pride of New York local products ranging from jams and jellies and salsas to syrups, barbecue sauces, marinara and gourmet pasta sauces, mustards, dressings, pancake mixes, chocolate sauces, nuts, candy and more. Corporate baskets are also available.

Nelson Farms Country Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store is located between Cazenovia and Morrisville in the Town of Nelson on Route 20 and the corner of Nelson Road.
