Hilary Corna, national speaker and author of One White Face, will give a presentation on Oct. 22 at the Morrisville State College campus.

The presentation, “Create Your Own Opportunity and Embrace Your Potential: I Dare You” will be held at 1 p.m. in the Little Theatre of the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC).

One White Face recounts Corna’s experience working overseas shortly after college as senior executive officer and kaizen leader for Toyota in Singapore.

During her signature presentation, Corna will discuss how she worked overseas and merged cross-cultural and diversity issues with career planning. It will be followed by a book reading and signing from 2-3 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.

After she graduated from college in 2007, Corna decided to launch a career in Asia. She secured a job as senior executive officer for Toyota in Singapore where she managed a team of people and worked across six Asian countries. She studied kaizen, a business method and management style for problem solving, which she applied during her work with dealerships in the Philippines, India and other Asian countries.

A 2003 Coca Cola Scholar, Corna studied at Kansai Gaidi University in Osaka, Japan. She graduated from Elon University with bachelor’s degrees in International Business, Asian/Pacific Studies and a minor in Japanese. She has been featured in a Pearson

Business Communication
textbook, Forbes Woman and The New York Times.

Corna’s visit, in partnership with Toyota Motor USA, is part of a speaking tour at State

University of New York colleges this fall, designed to inspire SUNY students.
