The Morrisville State College women's soccer team partnered up with Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, located in Syracuse, N.Y., to become part of the effort to find a cure for children's cancer. As of last year, President Obama recognized the month of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, represented by a gold ribbon.

During this past Sunday's home soccer match, the Mustangs wore gold jersey's, which were auctioned off in a collective effort to raise money toward the cause.

In addition to the jersey auction, the women's soccer team also held raffles and donated all gate proceeds to the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, raising over $700.

As part of a continuing community service program within the athletics department, student-athletes are involved in a variety of service programs. Last year the Mustangs participated in more than 20 community service programs logging over 1,200 hours of service.
