The Morrisville State College women’s basketball team fell by a 49-37 final Saturday afternoon, as visiting Lancaster Bible College claimed the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory in Morrisville.
The loss drops the Mustangs to 0-12 overall, 0-5 in NEAC play, while the Chargers improve to 10-2, 6-1 in conference action.
Lacandice Sanders (Waco, Tx.) led the Morrisville State efforts, posting 10 points, as teammate Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added nine points, collecting four steals. Courtney Purcell (Fabius, N.Y.) registered eight rebounds to lead the Mustangs on the boards, while assisting five on the day. Joslyn Paige (East Patchogue, N.Y.) was a defensive threat in the paint, posting six blocks.
Two tallied double figures for the Chargers, paced by Aubrey Folger with 19 points and nine rebounds. Lauren Heliger added 12 points, collected eight rebounds and three assists.
Morrisville State trailed 28-22 at the half.
The Mustangs return to the court Sunday, hosting Wilson College at noon.
