The Morrisville State College women's volleyball team rallied from a two set deficit to beat conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill 3-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division action Sunday afternoon in Keuka Park.
The win boosts the Mustangs to 3-9 overall, 3-4 in conference play, while Cobleskill drops to 4-15, 0-7 in the NEAC.
Cobleskill won the first two sets of the match with scores of 25-11 and 25-14, but the Mustangs attack went to work edging the Fighting Tigers in the next two games 25-20 and 25-18. In the final set, Morrisville State came out on top, earning the match win with a 15-11 victory in set five.
Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, NY) led Morrisville State with 10 kills, while teammate Alexis Hansen (Taberg, NY) added six.
Megan Robinson (Cazenovia, NY) added five kills and tallied 18 assists, while compiling 17 defensive digs. Lindsay Easterly (Cazenovia, NY) led the Mustangs with 19 digs with Hansen adding 11.
Kady Porterfield led Cobleskill with 13 kills, adding 11 defensive digs while Elizabeth Stap posted 12 kills and two solo blocks.
Morrisville State returns to the court Friday at the Oswego State Tournament in Oswego.
