Morrisville State College women’s volleyball dropped two matches Saturday afternoon at the SUNY Canton tri-match, falling 3-0 to host Canton, before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Oswego.
The Mustangs fall to 2-8 overall, and return to the court Tuesday, traveling to Hartwick for a non-conference match.
Canton claimed the first match with set scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-11 behind a nine kill performance by Jessica Reynolds.
Dayna Scurry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Morrisville State’s efforts with seven kills, with Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, N.Y.) adding three. Lindsay Easterly (Cazenovia, N.Y.) registered 11 assists.
Kylie Murphy (Nichols, N.Y.) and Jackie Saddlemire (Knox, N.Y.) each posted seven defensive digs in the contest.
In the second of the day’s action, Oswego claimed the 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-23.
Jasmine Hairston-Harris (Yonkers, N.Y.) posted a team high eight kills in the match, while teammates Jones-Maxwell and Scurry added seven apiece.
Easterly collected 20 assists and two service aces, while Maranda Owens (Brookfield, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with 11 defensive digs.
