Morrisville State volleyball claims 3-1 victory over Utica

Visiting Morrisville State College women’s volleyball picked up their third win of the 2012 season, topping host Utica College 3-1 in a thrilling match Sunday afternoon in Utica.

Morrisville State improves to 3-8 overall, claiming the victory with set scores of 28-26, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-14.

Dayna Scurry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Morrisville State’s attack with a team high 19 kills, adding a solo block, while teammate Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, N.Y.) added

13 kills and 2.5 blocks at the net.

Lindsay Easterly (Cazenovia, N.Y.) registered 42 assists in the contest, while adding 15 digs in the defensive game.

Kylie Murphy (Nichols, N.Y.) led Morrisville State’s defensive efforts, posting 18 digs, with Jackie Saddlemire (Knox, N.Y.) adding 15.

Morrisville State returns to the court Tuesday, traveling to Hartwick, before returning home to host Oswego on Wednesday.
