Morrisville State men's soccer routs Keuka College 4-1

The Morrisville State College men’s soccer team wrapped up their 2012 regular season with a conference victory over visiting Keuka College Tuesday evening, 4-1.

With the win, the Mustangs improved to 13-4-1 overall and 8-1-1 in the conference.

The Mustangs struck early when Gilroy Alvarez (Guatemala) collected a long corner kick from Joey Plummer and rifled a shot past Storm goalkeeper Preston Vick.

Sanley Pierre-Louis scored his first of three at 44:26, giving Morrisville State a 2-1 lead going into halftime. Alvarez earned the assist on the goal.

Pierre-Louis scored his second of the day at 52:44 when Jeffrey Hado (Ghana) slipped him a pass through the defense, setting him up for a 1v1 with the keeper.

Nate Smith scored the lone goal of the game for Keuka at 56:18 with Reis Cunningham tallying the assist.

Pierre-Louis scored his final goal of the game at 88:01 on an unassisted, breakaway effort. With the three goals, Pierre-Louis has widened his lead for most goals in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) with 14 goals.

Vick suffered the loss for the Storm, tallying three saves, while Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) earned the win, recording four saves.

With their 8-1-1 conference record, the Mustangs have qualified for the NEAC Championships to be held November 3rd and 4th.
