The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse program has teamed up with the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP), Saturday, April 16 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action against Medaille College, to raise awareness about the program which helps injured service members returning home from battle.
All gate proceeds from the contest will be donated to the WWP program, along with revenue received from general donations, programs and raffles. Morrisville State will also be holding an online jersey auction for jersey's worn during the commemorative event. The online auction will begin Monday, April 4 and continue through Sunday, April 17 at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced Monday, April 18.
Founded in 2003, the WWP was created to honor and empower wounded warriors who incur service-related wounds, injuries and illnesses while serving in our country's military branches since September 11, 2001.
The WWP program is near to the hearts of Morrisville State men's lacrosse players, many who have siblings, parents or other family members serving in our nation's military units.
