The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team beat host Vassar College Wednesday night, 8-7. The Mustangs are now 3-3 overall while Vassar drops to 2-5. Jack Martocello (Miller Place, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with four goals while Jeremy Beresovoy (Jamesville, N.Y.) chipped in three goals and Nick Farruggio (Lafayette, N.Y.) had the last goal for Morrisville. Andrew Stein (Oswego, N.Y.) grabbed seven groundballs in the game while Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) had seven saves between the pipes. Vassar was led by Max Herman scored three goals while Matthew Pearce, Jareyong Ko, Ryan McCarthy and Chris Toffoli each had a goal apiece. Pearce and Andrew Nicol each grabbed three groundballs, while Nicol also had nine saves in net. Vassar College scored five unanswered goals in the last three minutes of play to end the game. Morrisville edged the game in ground balls 31 -24 and also in shots on goal 17-14. The Mustangs return to the field Saturday at Keuka College at 3:30 p.m.
