The Morrisville State College men's basketball team posted their fourth straight win Wednesday night, handing top North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) ranked Wells College an 83-74 loss in Morrisville.
The win improves the Mustangs to 10-11 overall, 8-7 in conference action. Wells drops to 11-10 overall, 11-4 in NEAC play.
A back-and-forth battle, Wells hit a three at the end of the first half to post a four point lead at the break.
Midway through the second half, Wells went on a 15-3 run to lead the Mustangs by nine, but Morrisville State responded, closing the half outscoring the Express 30-11 for the win.
Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) led Morrisville State with 19 points, adding five boards, four assists and three steals to the Mustang tallies, while four additional teammates contributed double figures, including Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY) with 13. Darren Green (Greece, NY) chipped in 12, Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, NY) 11, and Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) 10 to round out top scoring for the Mustangs.
Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, NY) grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Morrisville State on the glass.
Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, NY) led the Express with 28 points, adding seven boards, while teammates Andre Sawyers (Bronx, NY) and Dave Foltz (Auburn, NY) each contributed 13 to Wells efforts.
Wells led 42-38 at the half, but shot just 34.4 percent from the floor in the second (compared to the Mustangs 60).
