Morrisville State College had three place in the top 20 at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships as the men's team claimed the third overall team finish Saturday afternoon at Penn State Berks in Reading, Pennsylvania. The women's team finished fourth overall behind two top 20 finishes.
Sophomore Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) led the Mustangs with a sixth place individual finish, crossing the finish line in 28:46. Freshman Ben Sargrad (Manlius, NY) crossed in 13th position with a time of 29:48 and senior Tim Austen (Clifton Park, NY) followed with a 17th place finish in 30:11.
Peyton Williams (Bronx, NY) and Carl Tausend (Cato, NY) rounded out Mustang team scoring with 32nd and 40th individual finishes.
SUNY IT won the championship posting 32 team points, followed by Cobleskill with 45, Morrisville with 108, Penn State Berks 129, Wells 132, Penn State Abington 137, Penn State Harrisburg 179, Cazenovia 205, and Keuka 226.
On the women's side, senior Regina Laws (Uniondale, NY) posted a time of 22:19, crossing the line in 10th position to lead the women's team to the fourth overall team finish. Junior Stephanie Page (Nunda, NY) followed with a time of 22:55, posting a 17th overall finish as teammates Elizabeth Peck (Antwerp, NY), Kelcie Degenfelder (Collins, NY) and Brittany Ellis (Camillus, NY) crossed in 30th, 35th and 38th position respectively to round out Mustang scoring.
Cobleskill won the championship with 32 team points, followed by Cazenovia with 90, Keuka 108, Morrisville 130, Harrisburg 136, Berks 144, Abington 158, Wells 165, and SUNY IT 185.
