The Morrisville State College men's basketball team finished atop the North Division of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) standings, earning the right to host the 2012 championship tournament, and will face Penn State Berks in the semifinal round scheduled for Saturday, February 25 on the Morrisville State campus.
The Mustangs closed out the regular season with an NCAA best 17-8 overall record, 14-1 in conference play, and is vying for their first conference title and bid to the NCAA tournament.
Morrisville State came from behind in the last meeting between the two teams, to claim the 78-68 victory. Berks posted a 37-30 lead at the break and led by as many as 12 with just over 16 minutes to go in the second half, before the Mustangs went on a 23-4 run over a span of six minutes to claim the seven point advantage, hitting key free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
Penn State Harrisburg and Wells tip-off at 2 p.m. in the first of the day's two semifinal contests; followed by the Mustangs against the Nittany Lions at 4 p.m.
Tickets are available the day of the game for $5 per adult, $2 for students with college ID, military personnel and senior citizens. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.
