Morrisville State men draw Carnegie Mellon for NCAA first round

Morrisville State College men’s soccer will be making their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament, and as announced in the selection show held at 1:00 PM Monday, will face Carnegie Mellon University in the first round of the Regional Bracket.

Morrisville State (15-4-1) earned the automatic qualifier to the NCAA’s after defeating Penn State Abington on Sunday for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Title.

Carnegie Mellon, host of the Regional, enters the contest with a 12-3-1 overall record and is currently ranked sixth nationally in the latest NSCAA rankings. The Tartans are making their first tournament appearance since 2009.

Morrisville State and Carnegie Mellon meet Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Soccer Field on the Carnegie Mellon campus. A link to live stats and a webcast of the game can be found on the Morrisville State men’s soccer webpage.  Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
