The Morrisville State College men's basketball team picked up a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Sunday afternoon, rolling over Penn State Abington by a 94-58 final in Morrisville.
Morrisville State shot 52.9 percent from the floor and raced out to a 48-30 lead at the break, fueled by 15 first half points from Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY), adding 46 second half points en route to the win.
Wade led all scorers with 26 points, hitting 9-of-13 from the floor, including three from behind the arc, adding seven boards and four steals to the Mustangs tallies on the afternoon. Four additional players netted double figures for Morrisville State, including Londel Lennon (Harford, CT) with 14, Bryan Eddy (White Plains, NY) with 12 and Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, NY) with 11. Eddy and Gordon each tallied a double-double, adding 10 rebounds each.
Joshua Howard led Abington with 15 points, grabbing six boards, as teammates William Alton and Mike Mitchell added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Morrisville State held the 54-27 advantage on the glass, and hit 41 percent from beyond the arc, compared to 20 percent for the Nittany Lions.
The Mustangs (4-8, 3-3 NEAC) return to the court Wednesday, hosting Cazenovia at 7 p.m.
