The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 32 team points Saturday to open the 2011-12 season with reserve team honors at the Skidmore Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) event in Saratoga Springs.
Skidmore was show champion with 46 team points, followed by Morrisville and Hartwick each with 32.
Ashley Bliss (Walworth, NY) collected the blue ribbon for Morrisville State in the novice equitation over fences class, while Allison Soukup (Pine Bush, NY) and Kathryn Galyon (Pearl River, NY) each collected top honors in the novice equitation on the flat class.
Five posted second place honors, including Rachel Kenney (Esperance, NY) in the intermediate equitation on the flat class, and Katie Northrop (Brighton, NY) in the intermediate equation over fences class.
Heather Norman (Rome, NY) was second in both the novice equitation over fences and equitation on the flat classes, while Emily Overend (Lansing, KS) collected second place honors in the novice equitation over fences class.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena Saturday at Hartwick College.
