The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team earned reserve high point team honors Saturday, recording 37 team points, nearly edging Regional leader Skidmore College at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational in Morrisville.
Skidmore was high point team with 41 points.
Four Mustangs took home top show honors, including Keely O’Hara who claimed a first in the open equitation on the flat.
Jessica Gurda (Warwick Valley, N.Y.) walked away with the blue ribbon in the intermediate equitation over fences class, while qualifying for regionals with a third place finish in the novice equitation on the flat class.
Dana Morgan (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) was first in novice equitation over fences, while Anna Harrigan (Lancaster, N.Y.) rounded out top place winners with a blue ribbon in the beginner walk trot canter class.
In all, 12 Mustang riders finished in the top two spots of the show classes.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena on March 30, traveling to Skidmore College for the regional championships.
