The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team posted a team total 30 points to place third overall in a field of 10 competitors Saturday at the Skidmore College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Invitational held in Saratoga Springs.
Skidmore claimed top show honors topping the field with 47 points, while Hartwick claimed reserve honors with 33 team points.
Four riders had second place finishes to lead the Mustangs, including Rachel Kenney (Esperance, N.Y.) who placed second overall in both the open equitation over fences and open equitation on the flat classes.
Bobbie Jean Carney (Hauppauge, N.Y.) was the runner-up in the novice equitation over fences class, while teammates Avanti Johnson (Parsippany, N.J.) and Mikayla Mazur (Camillus, N.Y.) finished second in the beginner walk trot canter and walk trot classes, respectively.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena February 16 at Skidmore.
