Morrisville State to host Grasstravaganza

Morrisville State will host a variety of events for farmers and consumers during the 2014 Grasstravaganza which will be held on campus July 17-19.



The conference, Pasture Soil Health Creates Wealth, will feature a trade show, soil health stations and presentations by national and local grazing and soil health experts who will cover a range of topics.



Among those in the speaker lineup are; Ray Archuleta, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) “Soil Guy” from North Carolina, who travels the country promoting soil health. Archuleta has 25 years of experience with the NRCS and is a certified Professional Soil Scientist with Soil Science Society of America.



Additional speakers include: Jerry Brunetti, founder of Agri-Dynamics, a company that provides holistic animal remedies for farm, livestock, and pets; and Jim Gerrish, former University of Missouri researcher, writer, who is currently a cattle rancher and co-owner of American GrazingLands Services LLC, a consulting business that helps farmers and ranchers more effectively manage their grazing lands for economic and environmental sustainability.



Participants will also have the chance to visit local farms.



This year's conference, made possible through the USDA-NRCS, will follow a two-day format with an optional Thursday evening reception.
