Morrisville State hockey raises $3,000 for Multiple Sclerosis

The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team, together with the Morrisville community, raised more than $3,000 Saturday in the battle against Multiple Sclerosis for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.



The MS Society helps to get each person challenged by the disease moving through research, advocacy, education, along with programs and services that help those living with MS move their lives forward.



This terrible disease has touched the hearts of the Morrisville State College community as well as hockey program, both within our families and among our friends. All proceeds from the contest against Oswego were donated to the society, including gate admission, 50/50 ticket and other raffle sales, along with general donations. Morrisville State also sported special black jerseys with the “Fighting MS” orange ribbon logo, which were auctioned off and collected an additional $1188 for the society towards the $3,070 total.



As part of a continuing community service program within the athletic department, student-athletes are involved in a variety of service programs, benefiting both the campus and surrounding communities.



Last year the Mustangs were involved in more than 20 community service programs in the local and surrounding communities, logging over 1,200 hours of service, and raised more than $9,000 for charitable organizations.
