Visiting Morrisville State College men's basketball team was handed their first loss in their last six games Sunday afternoon losing a close fought battle to Keystone College, 94-82.
The Mustangs dropped to 9-7 overall and are still undefeated in Northeastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play at 6-0, while Keystone stands at 14-2.
Mickey Davis (Syracuse, NY) led the Mustangs offensively with a 28 point 10 rebound performance, while Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, NY) added 10 points and nine rebounds and a block. Andrew Lucio (Syracuse, NY), Brandon Hanks, (Syracuse, NY) and Ryan Jameson (Greenwich, NY) all contributed nine points for the team.
Four tallied double figures for the Keystone Giants including Tim Benedix with 21 points, Kenneth Hardnett tallied 20 points, while Mike Kelly and Miles Dargan added 17 and 13 points respectively.
Morrisville State led at the half 39-38 but the Giants came out rolling in the second half scoring 10 points in the first five minutes of action while the Mustangs only added five. Morrisville rallied to be within 10 with just under four minutes of action remaining, however the Giants scored 13 points in the remaining time to seal the win.
The Mustangs are back in action Wednesday, hosting Wells College in a conference game at 5 p.m.
