Morrisville State College field hockey team beat SUNY Oswego 3-2 today in Oswego. The team's overall record becomes 7-7 and 2-4 in SUNYAC play.
The Mustangs' took an early lead after Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY), assisted by Lauren Bordonaro (North Tonawanda, NY), scored only three minutes into the game. Bordonaro scored six minutes later, assisted by Anderson, to add to the lead for the Mustangs.
Shortly into the second half, Oswego's Jackie Cook (Webster, NY) scored to put the Lakers' on the board. Cook, assisted by Jordan McGuire (Macedon, NY), scored again for the Lakers' 66 minutes into the game to tie the game 2-2.
With less than a minute to play in the game, Sybil Stanton (Walton, NY) scored the game winning goal for the Mustangs.
Kelsey Pellegrino (Cicero, NY) recorded the win in goal for the Mustangs, playing all 70 minutes and tallying seven saves.
Lakers' goalkeeper Jamie Scharfe (Webster, NY) recorded the loss, playing all 70 minutes and saving two.
The Mustangs next play on Oct. 15 against St. Vincent College at 4 p.m. away. The team returns to Drake Field on Oct. 27 to face Hamilton College at 6:30 p.m. under the lights.
