Morrisville State professor Kim Smith has been selected to participate in the National League for Nursing (NLN) LEAD Institute, a yearlong program for faculty who have been fast-tracked to leadership roles at their academic institutions.
Smith, assistant professor, has worked at Morrisville State since 2006 and was recently named interim associate dean for nursing.
Prior to working at Morrisville State, Smith, of South Plymouth, worked at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
The NLN LEAD Institute program supports development of organizational, management and leadership skills for the nurse educators who were chosen through competitive application process. Dedicated to excellence in nursing, the NLN is the premier organization for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education.
A member of the honor society for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Delta Chapter, Smith earned an M.S. in nursing education from SUNYIT, a B.S. in nursing from Keuka College, an A.A.S. in nursing from Morrisville State and will begin working toward a DSN this fall at Sage College in Albany.
