The Morrisville State men’s and women’s cross country teams race to 5th and 10thplace finishes, respectively, while recording some of their fastest times this season.
Freshman Anthony Ostuni (Liverpool, N.Y.) finished 20th, just seconds behind senior Austin Townsley (Horseheads, N.Y.) with a time of 27:42.69, setting a new Morrisville State freshman record and moving him into 6th place on the all-time list. Townsley paced the Mustangs men’s team, finishing 19th with a time of
27:40.8. Shawn Okula (Medford, N.Y.), Ben Sargrad (Manlius, N.Y.) and Austin Hirsh (Morrisville, N.Y.) also had strong races, placing 36th, 47th and 64th, respectively.
Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, P.A.) continued to lead the women’s team, who collectively ran their fastest times of the season, but settled for a 10th place finish. Hunt placed 30th with a time of 20:37.99 with Evelia Hehir (Washingtonville, N.Y.) finishing next for the Mustangs with a time of 21:32.15, earning her a 58th place finish out of 116 runners. Celine Eppolito (North Collins, N.Y.), Cassie Dunbar (Verona, N.Y.) and Roxanne Bailey (Staten Island, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for Morrisville State, finishing 73rd, 102nd and 108th, respectively.
