Morrisville State College Students Receive Liberal Arts Awards

Morrisville State College liberal arts students were honored for their achievements during the 12th annual Liberal Arts Tea. The event is part of the college's annual celebration of academic excellence.



The Liberal Arts Theater Participant-of-the-Year Award, given to a student who excels in theater productions on campus or assisting with productions, was presented to Billie Gadway, of Tupper Lake, N.Y., a human performance and health promotion student.



The Liberal Arts Tutor-of-the-Year Award, given to a student who excels as a peer tutor in the Academic Enrichment Center, was presented to Marissa Felker, of Camden, N.Y., a journalism studies student.



Erin Rundle, of Marathon, N.Y., received the Liberal Arts Athlete-of-the-Year Award, presented to a student who is a role model in both athletics and academics. A member of the women's lacrosse and soccer teams, Rundle graduated with a degree in liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science.



The recipient of the Criminal Justice Student-of-the-Year Award was Victoria Tolkan, of Madison, N.Y., a criminal justice bachelor of technology degree student.



The Humanities Student-of-the-Year Award, presented to an outstanding liberal arts major, was awarded to Susan Miner, of Oneida, N.Y., a liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science student.



Silke Mahardy, of Sherburne, N.Y., a journalism and communication for online media bachelor degree student, was named the Journalism Student-of-the-Year.



The Social Science Student-of-the-Year Award was presented to Callie Winchester, of Mount Upton, N.Y., a liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science graduate.



Named Mary T. Brown Teacher Education Transfer Student-of-the-Year was Stephanie Pierce, of Redwood, N.Y., a liberal arts and sciences: teacher education transfer – adolescent education graduate.
