Morrisville State College Renewable Energy Training Center Offers Workshops

Morrisville State College's Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) is offering two one-day workshops.



Grounding for Solar and Wind Power Systems—a Contractor's Perspective, will be held July 16, 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and Woody Biomass Markets and Wood Gasification will be held July 17, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.



The Grounding for Solar and Wind Power Systems—a Contractor's Perspective workshop will cover grounding requirements and considerations for residential and small-scale commercial wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Participants earn 6.5 PDH and .65 CEU.



Woody Biomass Markets and Wood Gasification will provide an overview of the North American woody biomass market focusing on the pellet industry and also highlight options participants can pursue to make use of North America's largest renewable carbon-neutral resources for their own homes and communities.



The workshop will also cover wood gasification, including the wood gasification process, basic design principles, challenges and various applications. Participants will also build and operate a small gasifier. Participants earn 7 PDH and 0.7 CEU.



Tuition for each workshop, which will be held at the RETC in Shannon Hall, is $300 with scholarships available to offset costs.
