Morrisville State College participates in The Great New York State Fair

A team of four-legged favorites moved into Morrisville State College's building for the duration of The Great New York State Fair which runs Aug. 23-Sept. 3.



Fair-goers can learn more about the horses; a Belgian gelding, a Percheron mare, a Standardbred brood mare with a filly foal, and a Paint cross, at the college's building located near Gate 4 by the Coca-Cola Coliseum and the Iroquois Indian Village.



In addition to horses, the college's automotive department is showcasing a drag racing car which was built by automotive technology students and is displaying a V10 Dodge Viper Engine.



Participants will also have the chance to play a video game crafted by students in computer information technologies programs and receive a free chair massage on Aug. 28, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., from students in the massage therapy program.



Members of the college's men's soccer team will be answering questions and showing off their skills on Aug. 24.



Participants can also obtain an array of information about the college and speak to faculty and staff about the college's program offerings, athletics and activities. Morrisville State College alumni are encouraged to stop by and access materials to find fellow classmates, enjoy history about the college and get caught up on its expansion and progress. MSC Alumni Day at the fair is Aug. 25.



The college will also have a presence and will be handing out samples in the Pride of New York Marketplace, managed by the Morrisville State College Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) through Nelson Farms. This former lottery building, located at the main entrance to the fair, resembles an old-time store stocked with food grown or produced in every corner of New York state.



The college's School of Agriculture and Natural Resources will also exhibit in the Future Farmers' of America (FFA) Building.



Equine faculty and students will also be competing with the Morrisville College Foundation's six-horse Belgian hitch in the coliseum near the dairy barn Aug. 31-Sept. 2. Admission to the horse show is free. Morrisville is the only college in North America to compete with a six-horse hitch.
