Morrisville State College, New York Society of American Foresters to host "woodswalk" in Morrisville May 21

Morrisville State College and the New York Society of American Foresters, Iroquois Chapter are hosting a “woodswalk” in celebration of the International Year of Forests.



The walk will be held May 21 at 10 a.m. at the college's Galbreath Farm in Morrisville. It will be led by Brendan Kelly, a Society of American Foresters certified forester, and assistant professor of environmental science at Morrisville State College.



The event is free and open to the public. Walkers should meet at the horse barn at end of the Galbreath Farm access road that intersects North Street.



Refreshments will be served at the end of the 1-2 hour moderately paced hike through the Galbreath Farm Woods. Participants should bring their own water for the walk.



“We are pleased to participate in this important celebration along with others across the country and the globe,” said Professor William Snyder, chair of the Morrisville State College Environmental Sciences Department.
