The second seeded Morrisville State College men’s soccer team defeated third seeded Cazenovia College, 1-0, in the semi-final round to advance to the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men’s Soccer Championship Final, Sunday, November 4 in Fort Washington.

After playing a scoreless first half, freshman forward Jacob Chase (Cooperstown, N.Y.) scored the lone goal of the contest early in the second half. Cazenovia outshot Morrisville State 18-14, but the Mustang defense stayed strong and did not allow the Wildcats to break through.

Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) earned the win, recording his sixth shutout of the season tallying four saves.

Morrisville State (14-4-1, 9-1-1 NEAC) will face host and top seeded Penn State Abington (12-3, 10-1 NEAC) on Sunday at 1:00 PM in the championship final. Penn State Abington defeated fifth seeded Penn State Harrisburg earlier in the day, 3-2.

Penn State Abington and Morrisville State meet for the second time this season, where the Mustangs previously posted a convincing 3-0 victory, accounting for Abington’s only conference loss this season.
