The Morrisville State College men's soccer team defeated conference rival SUNY Cobleskill this afternoon 3-0. The Mustangs now improve to 1-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play, while the Fighting Tigers fall to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the NEAC.
Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, M.D.) put the Mustangs on the board first at 18:29 into the contest. Pierre-Louis headed a direct kick from Joey Plummer (Gates, N.Y.) past Cobleskill goalkeeper Patrick Cobane (Delhi, N.Y.). The score remained 1-0 at the end of the first half.
The Mustangs scored their second goal of the day just over 10 minutes into the second half when Matt Doran (Marathon, N.Y.) chipped the ball over Cobane who had come out to play a 50/50 ball.
Eric Booth (Sherrill, N.Y.) scored the final goal for Morrisville State off of a scramble in front of the cage with one minute left to play.
