MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Morrisville State College’s Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) is hosting a two-day workshop on Small-Scale Biodiesel Production and Diesel Vehicle Veggie Conversion, June 11-12 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Morrisville State College RETC in Shannon Hall.
The workshop is an introduction to small-scale batch biodiesel production and diesel automobile modifications for all-season use of waste vegetable oil and biodiesel.
Topics will include advantages, disadvantages, and other practical considerations of biodiesel and waste vegetable oil (WVO) as fuels for diesel engines. Participants will run a 50-gallon batch of biodiesel using the RETC’s biodiesel processor (bring a can, take some home).
During the workshop, participants will also modify a vehicle for WVO conversion.
Tuition is $450 with scholarships available to offset costs. Participants will earn 14 PDH and 1.4 CEU.
