The Morrisville State College athletic department has named Regina Laws (Uniondale, NY) and Justin Delamothe (Cross River, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 31.
Laws, senior runner on the women's cross country team, ran a team best 22:19 at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships on Saturday, posting a 10th place individual finish in the 5K race, leading the women's team to a fourth overall finish.
Laws posted her second straight all-conference team running honor, earning second team honors this season.
The human performance and health promotion major is a graduate of Freeport High School and is the daughter of Gina and Jefferson Laws of Uniondale.
Delamothe, junior wrestler in the 125 pound weight class, posted a 3-1 record at the Electric City Duals on Saturday held at the University of Scranton, earning 16 team points for the Mustangs.
Delamothe posted a pin against Penn State-Dubois in 1:26, followed with a 19-4 technical fall against Apprentice, and posted a second technical fall on the day against UMBC (16-0).
The business administration major at Morrisville State is a graduate of Cross River High School and is the son of Cassandra and Jean Delamothe of Cross River.
