The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its student-athletes of the week, naming Morrisville State College's Kayla Walker (Oneida, NY/Oneida) its NEAC Softball Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 20.
Walker, first baseman for the Mustangs, led Morrisville State to a 2-4 week, 3-5 overall record, in her performance from the plate and field. She averaged 0.263 from the plate over six games, hitting five in 19 at bats with two runs scored, four RBI's and a 0.299 on base percentage. In the field, she accounted for 38 put outs, an assist and a fielding percentage of 0.95 percent.
A two-sport student-athlete in field hockey and softball, Walker is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Lisa and Reay Walker of Oneida, New York.
Walker is a 2009 graduate of Oneida High School.
